New Club Manager Appointed

New Era Dawns: Retford Gymnastics Club Appoints Charlene Jones as Club Manager!

The whole team at Retford Gymnastics Club are thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter in our club’s journey with the appointment of Charlene Jones as our new Club Manager! This marks a significant moment for RGC as we look to the future, building on the incredible foundation established over the past decade and a half.

Charlene is a familiar and much-loved face within our RGC family, having been heavily involved with the club on a volunteer basis for several years. Her dedication, passion, and deep understanding of how our club operates, from the day-to-day logistics to the aspirations of our gymnasts, make her the perfect person to lead us forward.

“I am absolutely delighted and honoured to step into the role of Club Manager,” says Charlene. “Retford Gymnastics Club is more than just a place to learn skills; it’s a vibrant community that nurtures confidence, resilience, and friendship. Having seen its impact firsthand as a volunteer, I’m incredibly excited to contribute even more directly to its continued success and growth.”

Charlene brings a wealth of hands-on experience and an innate ability to connect with our members, coaches, and parents. Her previous volunteer work has given her unique insights into what makes RGC tick, and we are confident that her leadership will bring fresh energy and innovative ideas to every aspect of the club.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Founder: Pam Rose

This transition also provides us with an important moment to reflect and express our profound gratitude to our outgoing Club Manager and club founder, Pam Rose.

Pam’s vision, tenacity, and unwavering commitment have been the bedrock of Retford Gymnastics Club since its inception as a standalone entity in 2007. Starting from units that were once industrial workshops, Pam, alongside a dedicated committee of trustees and countless volunteers, literally built RGC from the ground up. Her leadership saw the club grow from humble beginnings to a thriving hub with over 600 participants weekly, offering everything from “Little Gymstars” sessions to producing elite level athletes, and crucially, inclusive disability classes that serve a vital role in our community.

Pam’s passion for providing accessible gymnastics to all children in Retford and the surrounding areas has created a lasting impact that will be felt for generations. We wouldn’t be where we are today without her incredible dedication.

While Pam may be stepping back from the day-to-day managerial role, her spirit and foundational work will forever be etched into the fabric of Retford Gymnastics Club. We know she will continue to be a champion for gymnastics and a cherished member of our extended RGC family.

Looking Ahead with Charlene

As Charlene takes the helm, her immediate focus will be on ensuring a seamless transition and continuing the excellent work that Pam began. We are particularly excited about her commitment to enhancing the member experience, supporting our coaching team, and progressing our current fundraising goal to refurbish the back gym.

“My goal is to ensure Retford Gymnastics Club remains a safe, welcoming, and inspiring place for every single gymnast,” Charlene adds. “I look forward to working closely with our fantastic coaches, volunteers, parents, and most importantly, our incredible gymnasts, to build on our achievements and reach new heights together.”

Please join us in extending a huge welcome to Charlene Jones in her new role and an enormous, heartfelt thank you to Pam Rose for her extraordinary contributions. We are incredibly excited for the future of Retford Gymnastics Club under Charlene’s leadership!
